Rothko Records presents Tāmaki Makaurau ALTFEST

Saturday, 5 December, Rothko Records presents the inaugural Tāmaki Makaurau ALTFEST at Big Fan, Morningside — an 11-band celebration of Auckland’s emergent youth rock leaders and veteran heavy/post-punk musicians. Co-curated with local scene legend, Angelo Munro (Bleeders, Erase Everything), ALTFEST brings together alternative music audiences in an all-ages, licensed space that promotes community. Running from 4:00pm until midnight, the event features high-impact 30-minute sets spanning shoegaze, post-metal, grungegaze, doom, and noise-rock. Buy tickets.

We’re curating an alt/heavy music showcase at Big Fan, 11 September, connecting Auckland's vibrant youth rock circuit and its veteran metal underground. The evening of “light and shade” features Mothra, the live debut of Sunwraith, Rockquest winners Crying Ivy, and alt-rock outfitScream By Tulips.
